I lost a total of 66 pounds over the course of almost four full months.  My average weight loss was 16.5 pounds per month, but was closer to 30 for the first month.  I’ve learned how to diet and exercise again, and how to maintain a healthy weight level.  To those at the weight loss center, thank you!  You were very patient with me and my stronger personality!  As far as weight loss maintenance goes, I’ve made a few vows with myself:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1.  I will never again weigh what I did at the beginning of the diet.&lt;br /&gt;2.  I commit myself to healthy eating and exercise!&lt;br /&gt;3.  I will share this diet and the ideals that I have learned with it with everyone I know!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Just a few things I want to make sure I stick to after going through this process.  In the end I think it will really benefit me and I want to help others by telling them about it.  So wow…I lost 66 pounds and I now weigh 160 pounds vs. my previous weight of about 225 or so.  I look great, just went shopping yesterday for new clothes, and plan on resuming the diet shortly after a little break.  My goal weight is my 135 pounds that I used to weigh. Despite that, I made it down to the place where we were walking at 7am, walked for a mile, made it back and showered before going into work.  We’re probably going to start walking earlier though because our schedules aren’t meshing up as well as we would like and we are having to really hurry to get through the mile in time to get to our jobs.  What’s worse is we both have to look dressy, so that means going back home before we head out to work.   Oh well…&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, I discovered the wonderful world of healthy cooking today while browsing some recipes online.  I never realized there was so much you could make healthy by substituting while cooking.  Maybe there’s hope for a gal like me after all, ya know?  But yeah, I plan on cooking a whole lot while off this diet.  That way I can keep a lot better track of exactly what I am eating and how I can modify it to make it healthier.  Of the few things I found out you can do, the most helpful things to me is using oil instead of butter, using a special mayonnaise mixture for egg substitute (much lower in calories and Chol), and cooking with more unprocessed and homemade mixes/sauces. Life gets crazy busy sometimes, ya know?  Anyway, I lost another 4 pounds over the last 7 days or so.  I was surprised that I actually lost that much when I looked back at what my weight log said I have been losing these past few days, but I suppose anything can happen, right?  Anyway, so that was exciting and I am a little more encouraged that I might finish this out pretty strong.  As far as working out goes, I am not really interested in continuing to work out like I have because with this diet, I don’t think I’m up for it.  It’s not that great of a feeling and it really leaves me worn out, so I think it was a bad idea.  Instead I am starting walking with Rikki in the mornings.  She jogs, too, but she takes daily walks in the morning for about a mile or so.  I know I can do that, and it will ease up the amount of working out I do.  I’ll resume later on with the lifting.  I’m not a quitter! But that’s ok, because everyone who helped plan the party chipped in and got me a great gift basket for helping out provide a place for the party.  And they even remembered I was on a diet and got me one with minimal amounts of food in it.  That really helps, especially with how hard it is to resist food right now.  I’m proud of myself for that night, though.  I didn’t eat anything that wasn’t explicitly allowed in the diet I am currently on.  I did grab a few things, but they were very low in calories and probably didn’t affect anything at all, which is good.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Speaking of weight, I am currently at 169, so I broke the 170 barrier that has been haunting me for the last couple of weeks.  Next it’s the 160 mark, which should be coming up here pretty soon.  Oh yes, and while on the topic of weight lost, I did remember to workout yesterday, much to my chagrin, and I also made sure that I didn’t overdo it, either.  I’m going to head down again on Thursday, just as I promised all of you a few weeks ago, I think. My muscles are really tired now, and I think my weight loss went down a bit, since the scale says I have only lost 2 pounds since my last entry and it has been four days.  Probably just a fluke, but either way I am going to make sure I am not pushing myself like crazy while working out.  I don’t need big guns, I just need to lose a little more weight!  Anyway, I am hosting a party later tonight for a friend’s birthday, so I probably shouldn’t write too much more, but I will say this, if you are having social dinners, definitely be aware of the fact that social eating pressures are present.  I mean, this girl is generally a pretty tough cookie, but I have had problems lately trying to keep my eating in check when I am around other people. I worked out just as I said I was going to.  It was painful because I really didn’t want to go, but last minute I figured I better just head out there and get the job done.  So I went to the gym and hung out there for about an hour and did a complete workout (on a small scale).  In general we aren’t supposed to do crazy workouts while on this diet since apparently it can cause counterproductive results, but I do know that a light workout is OK, which is a perfect excuse for me to not have to work too hard, ya know?  I’m kinda one of those girls that doesn’t like to break her back if she doesn’t have to.  ;)  But in general I don’t mind doing some work if I am getting a good result for it.  That’s one of the reasons I chose this diet.  It was easy, cost effective, and didn’t take a lot of work…well, physical work that is.  I spent many nights craving food I knew I couldn’t have, but that’s ok.  I hopped on the scale today and I am sitting right around 173, so I am getting close to my goal weight, but I still probably have quite a bit left to go.  My weight loss is finally picking back up again so hopefully it will stay that way. Basically I went into Seattle HCG again today to pick up some more HCG and a diet suppressant.  No weight loss recorded, but that’s okay since I just weighed myself yesterday evening.  Hopefully I will lost another pound or so tomorrow and by mid week next week I will be down another few pounds.  Also, here’s my exercise routine for the next two weeks so you can see that I am consistent!  I’m pretty proud of it, if I might say so myself:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Workout:  Monday and Friday next week&lt;br /&gt;Workout:  Monday and Thursday the week after&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Will I stick to it? The 51 pounds I have lost so far is really encouraging though, so I am pretty happy with where I am.  I went to work out again and I used the treadmill for the first time.  I was pretty sore that evening, but that’s the first time I have walked on an incline in forever besides stairs, lol.  Anyway, I will keep trying to walk about 2 miles per week extra and see if that gets me anywhere.  I am also going to have to go grocery shopping again soon in order to get more supplies for the diet.  Mainly just fresh produce like fruits and veggies.  Of all the things about this diet, I miss processes food the most.  I know that is horribly sad since in the end I should be getting off of all the junk food out there, but it’s comfort food, ya know?  And sometimes us females like our comfort foods.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What I am probably going to do is switch to a mainly natural food diet and try to get out to exercise hard a few times per week.  I’ve made a list of all the sports I am thinking of taking up in my spare time to keep the weight off.  The main ones are biking, jogging, tennis, racquet ball, and rollerblading. This gal just needed a little bit of a break before starting back at this blogging.  It turns out that in the 11 days I haven’t been posting, I still managed to lose about 4 pounds.  Here is kind of a timeline of what happened since then:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First off, I have been crazy busy with some spring work we’ve been doing with some legal garbage.  It’s not a whole lot of fun, but it needs to be done and it’s good to keep things running smoothly.  The first few days after my major “oops” were taken up with that.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I’ve also been going twice a week with Rikki to get this exercise routine in.  It’s getting better, and I can finally come away and move the next day, if not a little sore.  That’s a step up for me, so I’m taking it as improvement.  If not, oh well, I tried, right?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The last few days have been completely consumed with a family reunion that is coming up pretty soon.  It’s just a small gathering with my immediate family and a few cousins and uncles, but I’m going to be looking fine for this get together and I can’t wait to see the looks on all their faces.  It will probably be in the next four months, so we’ll see how it goes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And finally, I had a visit to the Seattle HCG today.  The oops definitely hurt the diet a bit, but if I am diligent, I can still go through a fairly normal rest of my treatment time. I gained the pound back that I supposedly lost.  After I finished up my blog last night and balancing my checkbook I decided to “reward” myself with a treat and I grabbed a small…okay, medium…bag of Doritos.  I don’t think a bag of Doritos has ever tasted so good, but I finished the entire thing.  I am really trying really hard to stick to the diet, but a few times so far I have really been struggling with going by the book and not eating more than I know I should be.  I am hoping I didn’t entirely blow it, but it certainly feels like I did so far.  I’m going to give it a week to start losing again otherwise I might as well just give up and start again in a few months.  Idk, any thoughts peoples?  I know it is not wise to reduce my food intake since it is already low, so I am just going to stick to the protocol even closer than before and hope that I start losing weight again.  I did not think it was that big of a deal, but when I realized that I had just consumed 3x what I normally ate on this diet, I can totally see why it screws things up when you deviate like that. I’m not sure I am actually going to be able to take all the exercise routines that Rikki is giving me.  She’s uber-fit (is that a word, even?) and doesn’t have a problem jogging 3-4 miles a day or running a marathon once a year.  I only wish I could do that, but so far it doesn’t look like I am anywhere close to getting there.  I mean, give a girl some time to warm-up, ya know?  Well anyway, I feel better a day or so after the exercise, but the evening after a workout I am feeling pretty beat.  I don’t want to go on overkill, either, so I am going to make sure that I only head over there once or twice a week and take it easy the times in between.  Eventually it should get easier and I will be able to gain some stamina.  For now it is just a matter of working hard and hoping to see the results, which as of now are still sort of forthcoming.  At least I’m still losing weight, though. I feel much better after my near killer exercise routine courtesy of Rikki.  :P  That’s right, I’m blaming you honey.  But in general I haven’t been doing to bad with my weight loss.  I weighed myself right after “dinner” and it looks like I dropped another 4 pounds or so.  I am going to head out to the gym again tomorrow and see how it goes.  If I go consistently, I’ll get used to the extra exercise and that’s what really counts, right?  After all, with consistent exercise comes consistent weight loss, even if it’s not totally needed on this diet.  My friends are calling it the super diet, which the weight loss center got a kick out of when I told this today.  For now I am just going it what it is.  It is simply a practical diet for a gal like me that needs to lose a bit of weight fast.  Lol, and get a kick out of it, too!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So far I have one other person who is thinking about joining me on the diet, although she lives in Portland so I will have to keep her updated on the status of my weight loss.  She said we could race to our goal weight, but I think I already have a headstart. I don’t mean to sound like a pushover, but I’m so sore I can hardly move.  Rikki was really pushing me with all her exercise knowledge, but this girl can’t take that yet!  So now I’m sitting here after work on a Tuesday wishing that everything I needed was right here next to me on the couch so I don’t have to move.  Simple things, ya know?  Like the remote sitting five feet away, or a magazine.  I’m way too sore to move around though, so I will probably just chill here.  Moral of the story?  Go easy on yourself and don’t try to kill yourself the first day…there are plenty more days to do that later on. I think that’s a bit much, but I do think I will go ahead and try to get out 1 or 2 times.  I told her that the beginning or end of the week work best, but I am pretty much open to going anytime after 4pm, which is when I get off work (a hardship, right?).  She said the best thing that we could do is walk on the treadmill and other cardio stuff since it is calorie burning.  I’m not so sure about the other aerobic stuff, but I like the idea of a treadmill.  It’s still too cold out here for me, so I really don’t like the idea of being outside while I walk.  It’s just not a whole lot of fun.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, I’ve decided to keep a log of all my exercise times and weight loss.  I figure if I keep track of them all, I will be able to look back on it and see my hard work and progress.  Not that I will already be getting great rewards for my effort, but it would be nice to stay motivated for the rest of the diet, too. Sorry about that to all my readers.  I’ve been a little busy with work, but mostly was just taking a break.  I went into the clinic yesterday to do another check-in.  I’ve only lost 6 pounds since my last post, and I think it’s been 8 or 9 days.  I’m going to make sure I don’t mess myself up again.  It’s really not worth it, especially when I am working hard to lose the pounds.  Oh well…  But if you think about it, 6 pounds isn’t bad for 8 days.  That’s almost 24 pounds in a month, so I’m not really going to sweat it.  On another note, I got a pass to the gym a few days ago, and I’ve been so bad about going.  I haven’t even stepped foot in the door since.  It’s just so hard to get in there and spend the time exercising when I have to get in the car, drive, and then go back again. Ya know what I mean?  I am thinking I might just get some exercise DVDs and watch them on the big screen, but I don’t think that will motivate me enough.  What I really need is an exercise partner…  I actually had Rikki ask me a few times last month, so I might take her up on that offer. WRONG!  I didn’t lose anything the past two days, so only a pound was shed since my last post.  I know it was dumb, but I figured a simple ice cream desert wouldn’t ruin everything.  I called up the clinic, and they were very helpful as usual.  The diet works because the body is burning fat in response to a low calorie diet.  Not more low calories, no more weight loss.  So I pretty much just ruined the diet for a few days, but it should start back up again.  I’ve sure learned my lesson.  I need to not be quite so cocky with the effective weight loss, I guess.  There is a fine line there between the right amount of calories and too much.  Oh well, I’ll update ya’ll in a few days when I know what is going on with the weight loss. I lost another pound, but I also went out and got some clothes (much needed) for work.  I got some cute sassy outfits for a little less formal work attire and they totally fit my personality.  Not too in-your-face but definitely have a little kick to them.  They had some great sales going on at Ross and Nordstrom’s (I work both sides of the spectrum here), and I ended up getting 4 awesome outfits for around $130.  That’s what I call a sale!  I got a pair of pants and a jacket at Nordstrom’s on sale, and then the rest I found at Ross.  Once I lose the rest of this weight, I am planning on spending a few hundred on getting a new wardrobe.  I’ll probably start adding to my closet and get clothes that I know I will be able to fit into once I am down to my goal weight.  I’m already over a third of the way there, so I am totally happy about that right now.  I’ve also decided to change the format of the way I list my weight loss.  It’s getting too hard to write out the days and how much I lost each day, so from now on I will just simply put the dates in between posts and how much I lost.  I’ll throw the total weight lost in there for the heck of it, too! It went well and it turns out that I lost about 7 pounds over the last 8 days.  That brings me to a total of about 29 pounds, which isn’t bad at all.  My friends have finally caught on, as I said before, and I’ve gotten a little more than a few compliments on how great I look.  It’s definitely a little “high” and it makes the diet seem more worth it than ever before.  A few more weeks and I will definitely be looking like an entirely new person.  I am planning a trip tomorrow to grab a few new clothes for work.  Mine are starting to look a little sloppy, and I don’t want to push it too much.  I’ve worked hard to get to where I am, ya know?  Don’t want to slack off now, so I better stay looking presentable.  I have a few things to present to a board in the coming weeks, so I need to make sure that I look my best. I’m having a time of trying to post consistently on this blog, but I figure if I post 2-3 times per week I’m pretty much set, right?  That’s just about the most I can do anyway.  I’ve been swamped at work with legal garbage.  I like my job, I really do, I just wish there wasn’t so much of my job all at once sometimes, you know what I mean?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I think friends are starting to get suspicious, too.  They’ve noticed that I am much more careful about what I eat and I have had a few try to take me out to lunch.  It’s kind of funny watching their faces when I say no, but I am not really up to letting them all know I am on some crazy weight loss program right now, so I might just let them wonder.   One of my closest colleagues is doing slimfast right now, and although I am trying to take it seriously, I can’t imagine working that hard for a diet. They were impressed with the amount of weight I have lost, since from what they said most people level off just a tad to under a pound a day.  Not this girl!  She’s not slowing down for anything…  I sometimes wonder if I try a bit too hard, but if it is making me thinner, I won’t complain.  I lost another 3 pounds since the last time I wrote, and I think it might have something to do with the more physically exerting stuff I am integrating into my daily schedule.  I make sure I walk to lunch after sitting around working with legal stuff all morning, and my lunch is strict and exactly what the diet says I should eat.  It’s working out great so far, and I have to say I am pretty satisfied!  At this rate, I am definitely going to be looking at some new clothes pretty soon, and since I was saving my Christmas bonus, I might have to do something about that.  Once I am at my target weight, I really plan to splurge.  I am just going to grab stuff for work to start out with.  Cheap and simple for now, but a lot of fun! Hunger can be a real pain in the…well butt.  I tried going off the hunger suppressants they gave me but I am having a really hard time again, so I am starting back on them.  It is really the only practical thing that seems to really work.  Do I regret the diet?  Not a chance!  I’ve lost another 4 pounds, and it’s only been 4 more days.  That’s a total of 13 pounds since I started the diet.  Heck that’s good!  I just have to maintain the perspective that no matter what happens during the diet, I am on my way to looking good.  Now, I don’t know about y’all out there, but a little bump in the “road” doesn’t have this girl worried at all.  For now I am continuing to stick to the diet as planned.  The drops are actually really easy to use, and so far I haven’t had a single problem with them.  I don’t think very highly of needles, so this works just dandy.  Anyway, I will keep ya posted.  I was going to head in this week for a check-in, but I moved it up to tomorrow, so we’ll see how this next check in goes. My nephew has some kind of recital going on with his band, and I agreed to go with them to it.  It looks like it will be pretty awesome, actually.  The problem is going to be keeping my mind off of all the blasted food lying around.  You have to adhere to the diet pretty strictly, and although I haven’t had a problem yet, I have been having a lot of hunger cravings yesterday and today.  I went ahead and called into the clinic to find out what they can do to solve that, and they actually have hunger suppressants that I can take to help.  It was a huge relief that they are so willing to work with you, and I am going to be grabbing the suppressants next week at my follow-up visit.  I will let you all know how it goes, but I am sure that it is pretty routine, so I am not expecting anything big.  I’ve lost another 5 pounds over the last five days, so I’m happy about that. So far I’ve lost about 4 pounds, so a pound a day.  I’m feeling a little cynical about this right now because I know that if I lose a pound a day, I’ll be under 200 pounds in less than a month.  That’s a comforting thought as I watch these crazy sexy gals out there on their atkins diet.  I think this will do just fine, and I’m pretty excited about it right now.  I’m hoping to get out there and maybe jog a bit once my weight comes down and I lose a few pounds.  I’ll be honest and blunt as usual, but jogging with the extra pounds is difficult, so I’ll have to wait for the pounds to drop just a little bit when it will be easier to run around.  I really want to set a goal, but I have decided that I won’t do that until after a few more weeks and I can see how much I am actually going to be able to lose.  I am not sure how well I am going to do on the diet either since I have to be very diligent about what I eat.  I think I am going to have this thing whooped in the pants, though. Done with the first visit.  It wasn’t so bad and they were very polite, something that I absolutely demand out of any establishment I visit.  If they aren’t polite and professional, I have been known to tell them they are too rude for my business and leave.  So far they have met my expectations and I really like how they don’t talk you down during their consults and visits.  Does anyone else notice that professionals in a business tend to talk down to their customers or patients when explaining something that we just don’t get?  Maybe they actually ARE geniuses, but the rest of us don’t need to know that.  Anywho, off topic.  The point is, I could definitely get used to this place, and I think I might get some perm. eyeliner done through them.  They offer a pretty wide variety of both spa and weight loss services, so I’m pretty cool with it.  As far as the hcg goes, it’s pretty straightforward.  I take some drops orally, they make me lose weight, and I look better.  I don’t really remember or want to understand the complexities behind it, I just want it to work.  With any luck, It’ll do just that. For friends and family out there that know my struggle about weight and have exclusive access to my blog (are you catching all this, Rikki?), I’ve decided once again to tackle the problem of weight loss and shed off the last few pounds in my year long struggle with weight.  To those who haven’t read my blog, that’s totally okay.  I’m 27 and fresh out of grad school (well two years ago at least), have a Master degree in Advanced Legal Research, and have been significantly overweight for the last 10 years.  I’m blunt, direct, and 227 pounds.  My goal is to lose about 80 pounds using the hCG diet which a friend (the Rikki mentioned above) suggested I try.  It’s been a long, uphill battle but I have lost about 20 pounds in the last two months and want to see if I can lose even more on this particular diet.  I’ve checked around at about four different facilities so far and a few online supplies, but I am pretty sure I am going to try the Seattle hCG program that is administered at the Radiant MedSpa facility.  They have the nicest location, the best value, and good reviews and word of mouth advertising.  I have an appointment to try out their program on the 12th of this month, so I am pretty excited about possibly seeing some real results.
